1.  Welcome and Mission:

  • Wecome new members: Lindsey Rattet and Michael Hong
  • GJSMS Technology Committee Mission: 
    The General's Tech Support Team (TST) works to empower teachers, students, and school staff  to use technology and digital tools and develop 21st century skills for achieving the Common Core State Standards and Maryland Technology Literacy Standards. We do this by:
    • Developing and publishing procedures for using school technology resources including computer labs and mobile labs. 
    • Creating and curating digital and technology tools, tutorials, tips, and training resources.
    • Facilitating professional development for the integration of technology and digital tools in instruction: informal, formal, individual, small group, and whole faculty. 
    • Facilitating opportunities for teachers to communicate and collaborate with each other as part of a Professional Learning Community for technology adn 21st century skills integration.
    • Providing on-demand hardware and software technology support and troubleshooting services to teachers and staff.
    • Maintaining hardware inventories and usage data for the annual MSDE School Technology report.

Work Session:

1.  Tape down cables/cords in classrooms where equipment has been connected.

2.  Create Students Drive folders/subfolders with proper security settings.

3.  RM 03 (Mertens) new laptop: Uninstall/Reinstall ActivInspire.

4.  Troubleshoot ActivSlate issue (2 slates: Karwacki/Ray); test on different computers, re-install/update software, etc. Call in ticket if necessary.

5.  Unpack/inventory/deliver wireless mice and laptop cleaning kits for SpEd laptops.

6.  Unpack/inventory 2 sets of  ActivExpressions and register 32 devices per kit. 

7.  Investigate printer issue in Library Mini Lab


To Do List:

  1. Kelly - Get dates for ActivInspire/Expressions school-based PD.  Finish registering devices to hubs.
  2. Kelly - Ask Dept. of Technology about:
    1. Logons for substitutes
    2. Building-wide wireless access/purchasing or bringing routers for classrooms
    3. Teachers using personal iPads for instruction
